About the Role

Provides patient assessment, education, and care coordination for individuals with pulmonary conditions such as COPD and asthma. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, including smoking cessation, medication management, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and assist with discharge orders
  • Educate patients on disease management, self-care, and trigger avoidance
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Track admission and readmission data
  • Perform follow-up calls
  • Maintain statistical data
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and support ongoing quality initiatives

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Massachusetts licensure and RRT certification
  • BLS certification
  • Pulmonary disease educator certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Five years of experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology
  • Effective communication and patient assessment skills
  • Ability to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Ability to perform under stress

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk extensively
  • Ability to transport equipment
  • Ability to assess diverse patient populations
  • Manual dexterity to operate respiratory equipment

Pay

$40.53 to $51.67 per hour
