About the role
A clinical technologist supporting patients with respiratory conditions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with pulmonary diagnoses such as COPD and asthma.
- Develop and implement education and care plans, including smoking cessation, medication use, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
- Assist with discharge planning and provide patient education tailored to individual needs.
- Perform follow-up calls and track clinical data to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transition and support patient self-management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.
- Massachusetts licensure and RRT certification.
- BLS certification.
- Pulmonary disease educator certification (or obtain within six months).
- At least three years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology and respiratory science.
- Effective communication and patient assessment.
- Treatment planning and ability to perform under stress.
- Ability to walk, stand, transport equipment, and operate respiratory devices.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
