Publication Specialist

Summary

Researches, writes, and edits State policy for use in documents such as articles, manuals, and user guides. Develops announcements regarding implementation of State policy and changes to systems supporting State policy.

Responsibilities

• Researches, writes, and edits State policy for use in documents such as articles, manuals, and user guides to provide the public with information regarding technical areas in a less technical way.
• Collaborates with technical and non-technical staff to create and refine draft materials.
• Coordinates multiple projects on various deadlines and escalates issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, technical writing, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience working with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure.
• Writing and editing skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects on varying deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, technical writing, or related field preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $45,300.00 - $64,700.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

Schedule

Working from home with the ability to be in office when requested. Prefer within 50-mile radius of West Sacramento.
