Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in equipment operation or closely related experience.
- A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- A State of Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL Class A within 180 days of employment.
- To be considered, you must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements
- The position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
