Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Performs difficult professional engineering work in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of civil engineering projects; prepares designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other related duties as required.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Training and Experience: (1) A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and three (3) years of civil engineering work experience.) (Present or submit evidence of training, e.g., official transcript or diploma stating course of study.)
Licence Requirement: Registration as a professional engineer at the time of filing and possession of a certificate of registration as a professional engineer in the State of Hawaii prior to completion of probation. (Present or submit copy of registration as a professional engineer at the time of filing.)
Citizenship and Residence: All persons seeking employment with the government of the State or in the service of any county shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States at the time of their application for employment and shall become residents of the State within thirty (30) days after beginning their employment and as a condition of eligibility for continued employment. You must provide evidence verifying your citizenship or alien registration status and employment authorization in the United States at the time of application.
