Public Works Maintenance

About the role

Performs a variety of entry level duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of city utility and public works service systems including streets, water transmission, wastewater collection, and pressurized irrigation.

Responsibilities

• Operates specialized heavy equipment such as single & tandem axle dump trucks, road graders, cats/bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoe, bucket trucks, snowplow and other similar equipment.
• Performs construction, installation, maintenance and repair of various Street, Water or Sewer Department projects and sites.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of general work experience in a field related to the duties listed above.

Qualifications

• Ability to work "on-Call" and respond to City calls within 30 minutes of the call.
• Capable of lifting 50-75 pounds on a continual basis.
• Must obtain a class "A" CDL with tanker endorsement within 180 days of hire.

Pay

The starting hourly wage for this position is $22.17 – $28.05 per hour based upon experience and qualifications.
