Public Works - Maintainer
About the role
The Maintainer in the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, operation, repair, and construction of the Village’s infrastructure, including but not limited to, roadway maintenance repairs, curbs and sidewalks, sanitary and storm sewers, water mains, buildings, vehicles, and Village utility locates.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, operate, repair, and construct the Village’s infrastructure
- Perform roadway maintenance repairs
- Handle curbs and sidewalks maintenance
- Manage sanitary and storm sewer operations
- Oversee water main maintenance
- Assist with building maintenance tasks
- Operate and maintain fleet of vehicles
- Coordinate with utility companies for locates
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in public works or related field preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
Skills
- Proficient in using hand and power tools
- Knowledge of safety protocols
- Experience with computer software for project management
Pay
Salary range FY2025-2026: Step 1 $51,134.60 - Step 8 $67,289.65
