What You’ll Do

  • Research clients, market trends and background information associated with business development efforts.
  • Uncover new project leads through various means including suppliers, vendors, cold calls to end users, industry tracking sources, professional and business groups, technical organizations, and personal contacts.
  • Act as the critical client contact and develop and prepare responses to client requests during initial stages of a prospective project.
  • Identify public relations, sponsorship and advertising opportunities; coordinate their implementation.
  • Assist in determining the strategy for pursuing specific project opportunities.
  • Develop marketing strategy, action plan, labor and revenue projections and budget.
  • Initiate, participate in, and manage the preparation process for qualification statements, proposals and presentations. Assist in writing response documents such as the project approach, narrative and cover letter. Take ownership of proposals and response documents.
  • Receive and review project announcements, RFPs, RFQs, etc., and initiates decisions on whether or not to formally respond.
  • Identify and participate in trade shows and industry events/functions to network with key influencers and/or industry contacts.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of successful sales experience in the A/E industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of the AEC marketplace, industry, activity and sources.
  • Extensive business industry contacts.
  • Excellent lead generation and networking skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and proposal development skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Overall sales ability.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite is required & with Adobe Creative Suite ideal.
  • Experience with CRM system, preferably, VantagePoint, is desirable.

Compensation

Individual compensation is determined by several factors, including education, experience, training, qualifications, skill sets, licensure/certifications, and location. Employees are also eligible for discretionary annual bonuses based on both company and individual performance. The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 annually.
