About the role
The Public Safety Management Program ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves responding to emergencies, providing assistance in various settings, and maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Responds promptly to emergencies, codes, and alarms.
- First responder to acts of violence and aggression.
- Investigates reported thefts, disturbances, and incidents.
- Administers nasal Naloxone in suspected opioid overdose victims.
- Protects against threats and conducts emergency contraband searches.
- Performs patient observation and restrains patients as necessary.
- Forensic patient management and coordination with law enforcement.
- Patrols and reports loss prevention issues.
- Enforces safety protocols and conducts regular fire drills.
- Coordinates with funeral home staff and provides special protection.
- Assists with departmental and interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Adequate reading, oral, and written communicative skills.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in criminal justice, law enforcement, or business management preferred.
- 1-2 years of healthcare security experience preferred.
- Observant and able to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Current driver’s license preferred.
- Completed mandatory education and training classes.
