Public Safety Officer II
About the role
Performs security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers’ rounds in the Emergency Department. Coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors. Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement. Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care. Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety. Participates in employee awareness and education.
Responsibilities
- Performs security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers’ rounds in the Emergency Department.
- Captures and coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.
- Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement.
- Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care.
- Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety.
- Participates in employee awareness and education.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of Police Officer experience.
- Experience in Healthcare security or related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Qualifications
- State Driver’s license upon hire.
- Current DMV H6 report.
Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare security protocols.
- Ability to enforce policies and procedures equitably.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of emergency department operations.

Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $19.00 to $27.52.
