Public Safety Officer I
About the role
We are searching for a talented Public Safety Officer I. Hours: Per Diem. Flexible shifts and hours: 6:45am - 3:15pm, 2:45pm - 11:15pm, 11:00pm - 7:00am with On Call rotation (weeknights, weekends and holiday). Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA.
Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Public Safety Operations Manager, Shift Supervisor or designee, this position performs all duties and responsibilities related to the day-to-day protection and security of Southcoast Health System (SHS) and Southcoast Hospitals Group (SHG) assets and information as well as the safety of all persons on hospital/SHS property. The incumbent Officer proactively guards against fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry to SHG grounds and/or buildings while controlling access points.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associates degree preferred.
- Prior military, security, corrections, police, or relevant experience a plus.
- May require obtaining Special Police/Constable powers within a designated municipality.
