About the role
The Public Safety Officer is responsible for patrolling the JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit, or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, and infringements.
Responsibilities
- Patrol campus to ensure safety and security.
- Respond to and address illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, and hazardous conditions.
Requirements
- Current certification in the use of Corporate Security Services self-defense equipment.
- One (1) year of security experience in Protective Services.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of security functions, typically acquired through significant experience in a security operation.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Completion of basic security officer training.
- For assignment to the Communications Center: successful completion of 911 and Communications dispatch training.

Pay
Salary range: $17.37/hour – $28.68/hour. Compensation will be based on equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
