Public Safety Officer, Harrington Hospital Southbridge Campus - 16 Hours, Days

Major Responsibilities

  • Participates in the Hospital emergency room programs.
  • Effectively deals with a wide range of public safety issues handling a multitude of variables in changing situations.
  • Interprets and understands written and oral instructions.
  • Applies common sense understanding to instructions that may be furnished by way of written document, oral command or diagram.
  • Cooperates with law enforcement agencies consistent with the Hospital’s legal obligation to protect the rights and privileges of its patients in accordance with Federal and State Laws.

Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Obtain and satisfactorily complete the initial 8 hour Hospital Orientation Program and Annual Competency Reviews and any other training as may be occasionally mandated.
  • Obtain and satisfactorily complete annual (or biannual as applicable) re-certifications in: CPR, Fit testing for Tuberculosis Respirator Masks, Hazard Communication Program, Annual Fire Suppression and Hazard Recognition Training, Annual Self Defense and Management of Violent Situations Training, Annual Training and physical completion for the Emergency Response Team, and other training as may be determined by the Supervisor of Public Safety.
  • Avade 2 (restraint) training completion required within 6 months of hire into role.

Experience/Skills

  • Three years related experience and/or training in public safety.

License/Certification/Education

Schedule

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday), Scheduled Hours 0700-1500 Sunday and Saturday Shift 1 - Day Shift, 8 Hours (United States of America)
