About the role
The Public Safety Dispatcher is responsible for managing emergency calls and coordinating responses from various public safety agencies.
Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency calls
- Provide accurate and timely information to callers and responders
- Coordinate responses from police, fire, and other emergency services
- Document all calls and incidents in the system
- Train new dispatchers as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in computer systems and software
Qualifications
- Experience in emergency response or related field preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
