Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist artists, agents, and their crews with a friendly and professional attitude as a representative of the SFJAZZ team.
- Track and maintain accurate records of contractor and visitor sign-ins/logs.
- Manage and distribute the return of temporary keys and badges.
- Handle incoming mail and packages (e.g., USPS, FedEx, UPS) and ensure proper delivery or pick-up by the respective parties.
- Monitor the exterior camera system to maintain security, enforce parking regulations in designated areas, and ensure the driveway remains clear for the SFJAZZ van.
- Coincide with local authorities (SFPD) as needed, adhering to SFJAZZ protocols.
- Coincide with staff from the B-side Restaurant partner.
- Coincide and open the lobby daily according to operational needs.
- Identify, report, and document any unusual activities or security concerns.
- Report facility maintenance issues (e.g., lighting, plumbing) to appropriate staff.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Excellent verbal, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Highly organized, team worker, with the ability to stay calm under pressure while maintaining open communication.
- Commitment to and ability to articulate the SFJAZZ Vision, Mission and Values.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Availability to work variable schedules, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work Schedule And Conditions
- This position offers full-time hours, coverage primarily for swing shifts during show nights, with additional shifts as needed.
- The schedule requires consistent evening and weekend availability, along with occasional daytime and overnight (graveyard) shifts to accommodate the diverse needs of events.
- The roll is temporary for three to six months, with the opportunity to become a regular full-time staff of SFJAZZ.
- This role does not offer benefits during the temporary period.
- The SFJAZZ season generally operates on a performance schedule of Thursday-Sunday, in addition to rentals and education events which are typically held Monday-Thursday, generally late September through early August.
- Physical requirements include ability to safely navigate stairs, extended periods of time standing, working in dark environments and lifting up to 35 pounds.
