About the role

Christie’s, the world’s largest Art Business, is seeking an experienced Public Relations executive to join its Americas team, based at its flagship galleries in Rockefeller Center.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective media campaigns, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative storytelling approaches.
  • Secure a high volume of earned media coverage that supports the promotional goals of each department in the portfolio.
  • Closely choreograph media campaigns for maximum outreach.
  • Develop and drive trend- and data-based collecting stories and create strategic plans for building the media profiles of key specialists and executives.
  • Plan and oversee media interviews, press previews, media events and speaking engagements for each collecting area within the Luxury portfolio.
  • Expand and develop relationships with key journalists on behalf of the portfolio group.
  • Coordinate closely with related marketing functions to create integrated campaigns.
  • Act as a qualified spokesperson on behalf of the company when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in journalism, communications, public relations or equivalent field; or an undergraduate degree with at least five (5) years of related work experience, preferably within the consumer luxury industry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, strong organizational and project management skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach required.
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as image editing, online video editing and social media apps required.
  • Familiarity with media databases and analysis tools and ability to learn Christie’s proprietary systems required.

Qualifications

  • Minimal travel required, and mainly within the Americas.
