Public Relations Coordinator

In this role, you'll serve as support across a variety of PR clients while building professional relationships and strengthening skillsets. You'll actively communicate progress and deliverables to colleagues while delivering results through high-quality work. This individual will work alongside a collaborative team of branding and media relations experts, content and social media strategists, media buyers, and designers.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the public relations department across the department’s client roster and run select clients
- Create, deliver, edit, and optimize PR materials—executive bios, corporate newsletter content, online/digital content, and press releases
- Conduct media outreach
- Research news coverage and industry trends to develop fresh story ideas
- Client service administration support—meeting agendas, recaps, client correspondence, monthly coverage reports, attending meetings, scheduling
- Maintain department media lists
- Provide research and editorial support
- Track press coverage and placements
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have 1-2 years of relevant experience in marketing, public relations, and communications and a bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications, journalism, or a related area.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and roles
- Organized, accurate, and detail-oriented
- Strong sense of accountability—say what you’ll do and do what you say
- Make-it-happen attitude—scrappy, creative, proactive with status updates, and focused on delivering vital results
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time independently
- Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, and MS Office
- Knows when to rely on own judgment and when to seek advice from supervisors or team members
- Displays the work ethic and values of the firm in day-to-day behavior
- Takes initiative in building skills, knowledge, and value to the agency and clients
- Works with supervisor to identify and address training, education, and skill-building needs
- Continually seeks new ways to learn and improve
