The Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR) strengthens UNICEF’s position as a partner of choice for children’s rights among governments, inter-governmental actors, and the broader public sector. The Division positions children’s rights in governmental and multilateral forums while engaging with governments and public institutions as resource, policy, and program partners.

Responsibilities

• Drive partnership, advocacy, and resource mobilization to support strategic engagement with the U.S. government and other partners.
• Elevate the Washington Office’s external engagement efforts.
• Coordinate knowledge management and advocacy initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s or equivalent advanced university degree in Social Science, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, International Development, Economics, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may substitute for the advanced degree.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in partnerships, government relations, public sector partnerships, legislative affairs, external relations, stakeholder engagement, political analysis, or related fields, specifically liaising with the U.S. Government and the Legislative Branch.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable.

Skills

• Experience supporting strategic engagement with the U.S. government and other partners.
• Ability to formulate advice for management, including gathering relevant and preemptive insights.
• Experience in policy advocacy and developing engagement strategies and communications products.
• Experience supporting the planning, coordination, and organization of advocacy events.
• Desirable: Experience in congressional liaison, bipartisan engagement, think tanks, diplomatic community engagement, and resource mobilization.
• Desirable: Relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts.
