About the role
The Public Health Sanitarian position is within the Health Department and is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Two positions are currently available.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct inspections and investigations to identify potential hazards.
- Educate the community on health and safety practices.
- Prepare reports and recommendations based on findings.
- Collaborate with local government agencies and healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Valid New York State Health Practitioner License.
- Experience in public health or sanitation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to public health and sanitation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with health inspection software and databases.
Skills
