What you’ll do
- Lead plant sanitation activities.
- Work with sanitation crews, leadership, production, maintenance, quality, and other functions to effectively clean/sanitize equipment and plant prior to resuming operation.
- Ensure processes are deployed effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for crew performance through the use of training, coaching, and performance feedback to assure delivery of effective sanitation processes.
- Maintain and administer plant sanitation records; use as a tool to monitor performance and improve sanitation practices based on results.
- Includes but not limited to pre-operation inspection, equipment swabbing, environmental monitoring processes.
- Administer, maintain, and monitor conformance to Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Work closely with production and maintenance partners to establish effective sanitation practices necessary to maintain a food safe environment.
- Cook with internal experts and suppliers to evaluate performance of existing suppliers of cleaning agents and technologies.
- Optimize resources through effective scheduling and coordination of lean but effective sanitation processes.
- Maintain a partner safe work environment through deployment and monitoring of JHA, lock-out/tag out, and MSDS training and monitoring processes.
- Together with the leadership team, ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements.
- Interpret and communicate customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups.
- Establish and Audit PCPs, CCPs, and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Review incidents during which the procedures are not met, and determine appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.
What you need to succeed
- A High School – GED in a technical degree in Food, Dairy, Biology, Chemistry or related field is preferred, but not required.
- 3-7 years of experience in Food Manufacturing environment, Sanitation or quality control related desired.
- Federal or State governmental compliance agency audit positions related to food manufacturing a plus.
- Food Plant sanitation certification; pest and rodent control licenses is a plus.
- Proficient in sanitation procedures and GMP/IAB requirements within a food manufacturing environment.
- A clear understanding of quality, OSHA, FDA, and USDA food safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
- Effective in teaching specific sanitation procedures.
- Strong decision-making ability.
- Works well with limited direction.
- Interacts well with others and can develop a cohesive working relationship with partners who do not directly report to them.
- Efficient in the use of Microsoft computer programs such as Word and Excel.
- Effective communicator.
