Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in public health, or
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public administration, community health, or health and medical statistics, and two years of professional work experience in the field of public health.

About the Role

The Public Health Regional A&P Coordinator supports regional leadership by improving public health processes, enhancing departmental performance, and leading strategic planning. A&P Coordinators conduct data collection and analysis to inform decision making. This role may differ in day-to-day responsibilities from region to region, depending on the needs and strategic plans decided by regional and local health department leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a special project coordinator for public health programs and initiatives, including identifying areas for improvement, leading and facilitating process/program improvement initiatives, and implementing effective change.
  • Collects, analyzes, and presents various public health and departmental data. Compiles and summarizes data for reports and presentations to inform regional leadership and guide decision making.
  • Coordinates the regional strategic planning process, working with regional leadership to set and achieve regional goals. Aligns public health strategies with regional priorities and needs.
  • Administers and manages surveys, such as the Patient Satisfaction Survey and Workforce Engagement Survey; compiles results and presents findings to appropriate audiences.
  • Serves as the regional Public Information Officer, responding to media inquiries, assisting in writing and distributing news releases, and updating the region’s web page.
  • Provides training sessions and presentations to local and regional health department staff on various topics, including data collection tools, process improvement methods, and survey results.
  • Serves as the administrator for the regional SharePoint site by further developing various regional and local folders, posting and updating pertinent documents, and training employees in effective use of the system.

Driver Standards

State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving responsibilities require candidates to meet the following minimum driver qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • For the past five years, the candidate’s driver record must not have any of the following violations: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations.

Pay

Monthly: $5,100.00 – $7,646.00
Annual: $61,200.00 – $91,752.00
