Job Responsibilities
- Affords support to County Nurse Manager (CNM) with daily operations of health department(s).
- Serves as mentor/preceptor for new nurses and/or preceptors for nursing students.
- Manages specific program activities and/or specific program evaluations.
- Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.
- Applies principles of population health to practice.
- Participates in the planning, organizing, and evaluation of program areas to ensure the goals and objectives of the program are met.
- Provides treatments, administers medications/vaccines, and provides preventive and maintenance care to patients/families consistent with care plan and/or physician treatment plan.
- Serves as second-in-command to assist CNM with staffing/assignments and care for patients.
- Serves as nurse lead/expert in specific clinic programs.
- Works closely with CNM, nursing director, and nursing education coordinator to ensure all nursing protocols are up-to-date and followed closely by all nursing personnel.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Georgia or compact nurses active license required.
- CPR active certification.
- Department of Public Health/ERN training required.
- MAPEP Under The Pre-employment Fitness-for-duty.
Qualifications
The position is considered a Category 4: Health-related: Positions where medical knowledge and skills are required, such as nurses or therapists.
