Public Health Nursing Supervisor 1 (Harris County)

Job Responsibilities

This position will be based in Hamilton, GA and will function as a Public Health Nurse/County Nurse Manager in the Harris County Health Department. This is Not a Remote position. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Plan for client level & population-based nursing services
• Evaluate, compile, and submit data and reports by established deadlines
• Evaluate supplies, equipment and medication needs and ensure adequate levels are maintained
• Monitor clinic activity and modify schedule, as needed
• Cook up peer reviews and protocol signature pages, mock drills, and emergency vaccine storage plans, as needed
• Order and approve requisitions for program supplies and medications / vaccines
• Identify training needs of clinic staff and ensure training is provided
• Identify new community collaborations and/or revenue resources, when applicable
• Participate in the Nurse Manager meetings monthly/quarterly

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
• CPR certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
• Two (2) years of PHN experience
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
• CPR certification
