PTA PRN

About the role

Provide hands-on support for residents receiving skilled nursing rehabilitation, helping them practice essential mobility skills and make progress toward goals established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Carry out prescribed treatments for residents with varied recovery needs and functional limitations.
• Incorporate strengthening, balance, and endurance activities within the PT's plan of care.
• Train residents in walking, transfers, and bed mobility while observing individual precautions.
• Reinforce correct use of walkers and other prescribed mobility devices.
• Share observations about residents' performance and treatment tolerance with the supervising PT.
• Record services accurately and coordinate with nursing and rehabilitation colleagues to support safe movement between sessions.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Strong treatment skills and attention to resident safety.
• Effective communication and timely clinical documentation.
• Skilled nursing experience is helpful; new graduates are welcome to apply.
