PT Teen Programmer, Goshen

About the role

The Goshen branch is searching for an enthusiastic Teen Programmer to add to their team. The role of Teen Programmer is part-time and non-exempt. Teen Programmers will work a weekly combination of morning, afternoon and potential weekend shifts. Schedule: To Be Determined.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly programming for teens grades 6-12 / ages 12-18.
• Setup passive programming at the branch for Teens.
• Work collaboratively with other programmers to facilitate programs for other age groups.
• Organize, maintain, prepare, and order materials utilized for crafts and activities.
• Provide Summer Reading program activities.
• Assist with annual Summer Reading events at other library locations.
• Conduct occasional outreach events at schools and other community organizations (more often when promoting Summer Reading at local schools).
• Know and follow all library policies and procedures.
• Present information about services and programs to individuals and groups in the library.
• Meet regularly with the Teen Librarian and communicate effectively with other staff.
• Occasionally fill in at other branches as staffing needs dictate.

Requirements

• A high school diploma required; bachelor’s or some post-secondary preferred.
• Experience with children or teen programming and/or children’s and teen literature is preferred.
• Basic computer experience with standard office software, including Microsoft Office products.
• Social media literacy and basic graphic design required.
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving history required, as well as personal transportation that can be used for business travel.
