Essential Job Functions
- Maintains positive living/learning situations within the residence halls.
- Responds appropriately to crisis/conflict/violation situations.
- Suggests remedial or corrective actions.
- Provides emotional support, guidance, and mentoring to students.
- Creates a sense of community within the residence halls.
- Aids students in making better decisions and planning life goals.
- Serves as an ethical adult leader and role model.
- Issues room keys and manuals following room assignments.
- Plans and implements appropriate residence hall programming.
- Acts as a customer service resource and referral agent.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years related work experience with young adults, such as residence life advisor/coordinator, student mentor, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Responsive, quick-thinking, and able to anticipate and respond to issues.
- Establishes priorities and works independently without close supervision.
- Works effectively as a member of a team.
