About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Medical Records Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all patient information.
- Create and update patient records, including medical history, test results, treatment plans, and other pertinent information.
- Retrieve and deliver patient records as requested by healthcare providers and administrative staff.
- Ensure proper storage and filing of physical and electronic medical records.
- Assist with data entry and documentation tasks as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws governing the handling of patient information.
- Provide support to healthcare providers and staff by locating and retrieving relevant medical records in a timely manner.
- Absorb and assist with audits and quality assurance activities related to medical records management.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and accurate record-keeping processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
