About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Medical Records Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Create and update patient records, including medical history, test results, treatment plans, and other pertinent information.
  • Retrieve and deliver patient records as requested by healthcare providers and administrative staff.
  • Ensure proper storage and filing of physical and electronic medical records.
  • Assist with data entry and documentation tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws governing the handling of patient information.
  • Provide support to healthcare providers and staff by locating and retrieving relevant medical records in a timely manner.
  • Absorb and assist with audits and quality assurance activities related to medical records management.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and accurate record-keeping processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
