PT Medical Records Clerk

About the role

Northern Pines Rehab and Nursing is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to help manage patient records. In this role, you will scan documents, update electronic health records, ensure clinical documentation is accurate and complete, and respond to release of information (ROI) requests while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical medical records
• Audit medical records for accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Update patients' electronic health records (EHR)
• Respond to ROI (release of information) requests for medical records, logging all requests, authorizations, and releases in our system
• Follow all HIPAA regulations
• Perform other clerical duties as needed, such as invoicing

Requirements

• Medical records experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong communication skills
