About the role

As a Wellness Clinician-Licensed, you will join an evidence-based program and a dynamic team for the opportunity to learn and refine your clinical and engagement skills, helping people make progress on their unique recovery journeys. Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment by using person-first language, respectful documentation, and person-centered planning. All services provided will promote a wellness and recovery outcome, helping to stabilize an individual so they may remain in the community and divert from having to go to the Emergency Room.
  • Foster a culture of compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, laws, and high ethical standards.
  • Under the clinical supervision of the Senior Wellness Clinician, conduct intake assessment, DSM-V diagnosis, goal planning, brief treatment, crisis stabilization, linkage, and discharge planning services for individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders, including substance abuse and medical disorders.
  • Conduct a Risk Assessment with each individual to assess suicidal and/or homicidal ideation with clinically indicated follow-up if needed.
  • Provide mental health and substance abuse treatment and education on-site to persons served and significant others, often focusing on evidence-based, trauma-informed brief treatment.
  • Provide crisis intervention services for persons served with acute psychiatric needs whose circumstances and conditions require rapid intervention, using techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Treatment, Crisis Stabilization and De-Escalation, Trauma-Informed Care, Self-Regulation, and Psychoeducation.
  • Provide brief therapy and evidence-based interventions in individual or group sessions in the office.
  • Facilitate involvement of family members at the person served’s request to provide psychoeducation and support.
  • Provide technical assistance and education to team members in reference to best clinical practices.
  • Collaborate with Wellness Specialists to recommend needed case management services along with referrals and linkages to aftercare services.
  • Work collaboratively with APNs and Psychiatrists in providing Medication Education to persons served.
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage on a rotating schedule among other Licensed Clinicians, Senior Wellness Clinician, and Director. Determine acuity of the individual’s situation and contact police or Mobile Crisis as indicated. If stable, provide information about CIS Hours of Operation and encourage the individual to come in during those hours.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention, Engagement, Needs and Strengths Comprehensive Assessment (including diagnosing), Collaborative Goal/Discharge Planning, Brief Therapy, Individual and Family Psycho-education, collaborative documentation, and Trauma-Informed Care under clinical supervision.
  • Coordinate Intake, assessment, Goal, and Discharge planning with CIS staff through regular multi-disciplinary communication between all team members, including other Licensed Clinicians, Wellness Specialists, APNs, Psychiatrists, scheduling & Insurance Verification Specialists, Receptionists, and Program Director.
  • Maintain positive relationships with community service personnel.
  • Ensure intake processes are readily accessible and flexible, and that all individuals who walk in or are referred are seen and assessed within 24 hours by a Licensed Clinician.
  • Ensure clinical interventions are evidence-based and lead to goal attainment within the framework of the BCIS program’s 30-day period for persons receiving services.
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive assessment and the Goal and Discharge Plan, focusing on the clinical needs of the person receiving services.
  • Attend team meetings held weekly to review persons served and discuss other clinical and operational matters.
  • Participate in required weekly Individual Clinical Supervision with Senior Wellness Clinician.
  • Consult community service providers and resource providers regarding the assessment, treatment, and aftercare needs of the persons served.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • LPC, LAC, LCSW, or LSW required; CADC preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • 1 year of paid progressive work experience with people who have mental health issues, preferably in an Outpatient or Community Mental Health Setting; new graduates will be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than one moving violation within the past 12 months.
  • Vehicle required.

Pay

$68,000–$72,000 per year.

Schedule

  • Full-time: Monday–Friday, 2 days 12pm–8pm, 3 days 9am–5pm (flexible on days).
  • Part-time: 24 hours (3 shifts a week).
