PT Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Observing and reporting any and all incidents while on campus
• Doing foot patrols in and around all buildings on campus
• Conducting professional interactions with the public
• Opening and securing buildings and classrooms
• Occasional deposit or mail pickup/delivery
• Basic upkeep of assigned equipment and tools
• Directing traffic
• Assisting students, faculty, and visitors with daily calls of service (keys locked in vehicle, boosting vehicle batteries, directions, etc.)
• Fostering trust within our diverse community and problem solving through collaboration
• Special Assignments may be required to perform other duties as assigned
• May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Must be able to pass DCJS Security Officer Training (obtain certificate)
• Must be able to pass CPR training (obtain certificate)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Cannot have criminal convictions excluding traffic offenses
• Must be physically fit enough to walk the campus, stairs, hallways, etc. and stand, multiple hours in all types of weather
• Must possess Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be available to work different shifts and weekends upon request
• Security work experience preferred
• Experience using radio communications equipment
• Experience using PeopleSoft
• Operate a State Vehicle
