About the role
The Embassy Suites by Hilton Bethesda is seeking a Part-Time AM Breakfast Cook/Food Attendant to join the Food & Beverage Team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant, supportive environment that values innovation and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the presentation of the complimentary breakfast/evening reception by obtaining supplies, clearing away dirty dishes, wiping off tables, and restocking the buffet area.
- Maintain the work area, including counter tops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration equipment, in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure that all food is stored in proper containers and at proper storage and holding temperatures.
- Work with all employees as a team to ensure smooth operation of food production.
- Facilitate shift changes and relay any pertinent information to supervisor and/or next shift employees.
- Greet guests and ensure guests are satisfied.
- Perform daily and weekly inventory control.
- Other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer.
Skills
- High school graduate level mathematical aptitude.
- Knowledge of ordering procedures and safe food handling processes.
- Knowledgeable of basic customer service skills.
- Competent in oral and written English.
Physical Demands
- Lifting trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. 20 - 40 lbs.
- Pushing carts, Queen Marys, hotbox, portable bar 50 - 100 lbs.
- Carrying trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. using both hands at 20 - 40 lbs.
- Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
- Bending/kneeling.
- Mobility: Maneuver in narrow areas and between seated guests.
- Continuous standing required to service guest functions; 100% of the time scheduled.
- Climbing approximately 12 steps 20% of 8 hours.
- No driving required.
- Ability to read use records and all special requests.
- Able to perform multiple tasks at one time, follow verbal and written instruction, and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
Environment
- Physically strenuous prolonged standing, walking, lifting and carrying throughout entire shift.
- In 95% indoor environment.
- Going in the freezer temperatures can be -10 degrees.
