Psychometrist
Brief Description
Administer various types of standardized psychological tests to patients, including cognitive tests (i.e., attention and memory tests), personality inventories, among others.
- Set up and collect demographic information from patients.
- Work one-on-one with patients, administering standardized tests to them.
- Adapt the administration of tests to the specific needs of each patient while adhering to standardized procedures.
- Provide detailed written behavioral observations of the examinee that may be used by the neuropsychologist to aid in test interpretation.
- Troubleshoot difficult testing situations.
- Perform administrative tasks in support of testing and process improvement.
- Accurately score tests according to standardized rules and using appropriate norms.
- Perform data entry using specialized neuropsychological software.
- Conduct various clerical or administrative duties that include but are not limited to patient scheduling, correspondence with outside providers/clinics and attorneys, and procurement of office and testing supplies.
- Participate in practice improvements by implementing changes to procedures/workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting with the delivery of compassionate and personalized patient care.
Requirements
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
- Previous clinical experience using psychological tests is preferred.
- Experience working with patients who have medical or neurological conditions is desirable.
