About the role
LarLo Behavioral Services is a multidisciplinary behavioral health practice dedicated to improving emotional, cognitive, and psychological well-being through evidence-based psychiatric and neuropsychological services. We provide comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing a wide range of neurological, developmental, psychiatric, and cognitive concerns. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Psychometrist who enjoys working directly with patients and contributing to high-quality neuropsychological evaluations.
Position Summary
The Psychometrist administers and scores standardized psychological and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist. This position plays an essential role in obtaining accurate assessment data while ensuring patients have a positive, supportive testing experience. The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, organized, and capable of maintaining testing fidelity and confidentiality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administer standardized psychological and neuropsychological assessments according to standardized procedures.
- Build rapport with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Observe and document patient behavior during testing.
- Score psychological and neuropsychological measures accurately.
- Review completed testing materials for completeness and quality.
- Prepare testing materials prior to evaluations.
- Aid with scheduling testing appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record.
- Ensure testing materials remain secure and confidential.
- Maintain testing rooms and assessment materials.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, physicians, schools, and other healthcare professionals.
- Aid with quality assurance activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising neuropsychologist.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or closely related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow standardized testing procedures precisely.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Previous psychometrist experience.
- Experience administering psychological or neuropsychological assessments.
- Experience working with children and adults.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods during testing sessions.
- Ability to occasionally lift testing materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
