About the role

The Psychometrist at Augusta Pain Center serves as a Test Administrator, Assistant, and Patient Educator/Advocate. Under the supervision of a licensed clinical Psychologist, this role involves administering psychological tests, providing relaxation training and coaching, educating and advocating for patients and family members, and facilitating counseling services such as pain management training, biofeedback/relaxation training, smoking cessation, weight management, and sleep hygiene.

Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other evidence-based methods. The Psychometrist collaborates with Psychologists, Physicians, and other providers in a multidisciplinary, integrated approach to pain management.

Responsibilities

• Administer and score psychological tests evaluating cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional status.
• Provide relaxation training and coaching in various settings.
• Educate and advocate for patients and family members.
• Facilitate counseling services, including pain management training, biofeedback, smoking cessation, weight management, and sleep hygiene.
• Record observations, test results, and additional patient information.
• Compile reports for psychologists to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Perform record-keeping, paperwork, and scheduling tasks.
• Type reports or letters and update records as directed by the Psychologist.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Clinical Psychology preferred but not required.
• 1 year of experience in mental and behavioral health or related field (required).
• Experience in behavioral health (required).

Pay

$18–$25 hourly wage.

Schedule

• Full-time, day shift.
• Monday to Friday.
