Psychology Expert

About the Role

At TELUS Digital, we are looking for freelancers with a background in Psychology to help make the internet a safer place. You don’t need to be a tech expert or a computer scientist. Your role is to use your understanding of human behavior and mental health to check if AI-generated content is safe, helpful, and responsible. You are the "Human Compass" that helps the AI understand people better.

Responsibilities

• Safety Reviews: Review content flagged as potentially risky or harmful and decide if it follows safety rules.
• Behavior Analysis: Examine how an AI interacts with users and identify biased or unfair behavior.
• Risk Reporting: Identify "gray areas" where an AI might give bad advice and suggest safer alternatives.
• Mental Health Awareness: Use your degree to ensure the AI recognizes sensitive topics and handles them with care.

Requirements

• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language, including cultural and emotional understanding of how people communicate in your country.
• English Proficiency: Basic (B1) English to read project guides and safety rules.
• Empathy & Logic: Ability to understand human emotions and spot risks others might miss.

To be hired, you’ll complete a subject-specific qualification exam and ID verification.

Pay

Pay rates for experts range from $20 - $50 USD per hour, with terms defined per project.
