Psychology Research Subject Matter Expert

Description of Responsibilities

  • Aid in the creation and execution of a detailed study protocol, including hypotheses, methodologies, collection strategies, and overall statistical analysis of study data under consultation with USAFSAM/FESP professional staff.
  • Lead relevant scientific literature reviews and data analyses, and participate in discussions with USAFSAM/FESP staff.
  • Advise USAFSAM/FESP professional staff on optimal statistical approaches to analyze study data.
  • Perform statistical analyses of study data using descriptive and inferential statistical procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of the data, adhering to IRB protocols and safeguards.
  • Prepare reports of scientific/statistical results for publication, in collaboration with USAFSAM/FESP and 711 HPW staff.
  • Support the preparation of professional presentations, reports, and papers based on research findings.
  • Manage and coordinate the data collection, input, maintenance, and storage processes for the project.
  • Assist in the collection of assessment data and its input into the project database.
  • Provide operational support for USAFSAM/FESP research activities and data acquisition aligned with project goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate and lead research team meetings to ensure effective communication and progress towards project goals.
  • Support additional USAFSAM/FESP-related investigations if there is an unexpected interruption in research capabilities or workload reductions.

Requirements

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline.
  • Doctoral degree (or Master’s degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience) in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge with at least 5 years of experience in database development, data analysis using software like JMP, SPSS, R, etc., and product development for presenting research outcomes.
  • At least 5 years of experience in administrative management of human performance and behavioral science research studies.
  • Ability to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with human performance and behavioral science research within the Department of War (DoW).
  • Experience in developing and administering comprehensive, validated psychological instruments via mobile and web-based capabilities.
  • Experience as an author of publications in peer-reviewed journals or official USAF/DoW technical reports in behavioral science.

Certification and Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a permanent resident card (“Green Card”) or Work VISA.
  • Pass a Tier 1 ((T1)/SF85) background check for a Position of Trust clearance.
