The SORTS program has a 125-bed capacity, and clients in this program are civilly committed under Missouri State Statute 632.480 (the sexually violent predator law). The SORTS Program follows the Risk Needs Responsivity principles and integrates a variety of treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Clients are offered Process Groups, Psycho-educational groups, and case management services. There are also some individual therapy opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide case management, group therapy, and individual therapy to clients with a variety of diagnoses who have a history of sexual offenses.
  • Participate in multiple multidisciplinary treatment teams within the program, which includes social workers, psychiatrists, rehabilitation services providers, nurses, and direct care staff.
  • Work closely with clients as they work towards achieving a conditional release.
  • Show strong clinical skills and utilize a variety of clinical interventions.
  • Document client progress effectively.
  • Complete psychological assessments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Psychology
  • Licensed as a Psychologist in Missouri

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training and/or experience with forensic clients within an inpatient setting
  • Training and/or experience treating sex offenders
