PSYCHOLOGIST (HEALTH FACILITY - CLINICAL - SAFETY)

About the role

We are hiring Psychologists at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (DSH-A), a 1,200-bed state hospital serving men under various criminal and civil commitments. Opportunities are available for both unlicensed and licensed psychologists, with salaries ranging from $9,157 to $13,272 per month depending on licensure and experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete Admission Psychological Assessments (APA) to clarify psychiatric and psychological diagnoses
• Conduct intellectual and cognitive assessments of patients when clinically indicated
• Perform psychological assessments and deliver treatment services
• Create and monitor behavioral interventions
• Provide timely feedback to patients regarding psychological assessment results and complete appropriate documentation
• Participate in treatment team duties
• If licensed, provide clinical supervision to pre-doctoral interns and unlicensed professionals as requested

Skills and experience

• Eligibility via certification list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility
• Minimum qualifications as specified in the examination bulletin/classification specifications

The Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout California.
