About the Role

Join the recently established Fargo Behavioral Health Division at Essentia Health. This opportunity is for outpatient practice at our South University Behavioral Health department in Fargo. Provide psychological services, including psychotherapy and psychological testing, in the outpatient clinic setting. Focus on pediatric and/or adult patients, according to your areas of competence, interest, and scope of practice. Psychological testing referrals include ADHD assessments, pain evaluations, and the need for diagnostic clarification.

Practice independently with the benefit of biweekly case consultation with the team, as well as ongoing informal support from colleagues with a variety of clinical interests and backgrounds. The department does not provide after-hours on-call coverage to the hospital or ED but offers ED and inpatient consultations upon limited request. Outreach opportunities at other Essentia Health clinics within daytime driving distance may be possible based on provider preference and patient need.

Work with a multidisciplinary Behavioral Health team consisting of psychiatry, psychology, neuropsychology, and social work. Most psychologist practices are a combination of in-person and telehealth services.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychotherapy and psychological testing in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Focus on pediatric and/or adult patients based on competence and interest.
• Conduct ADHD assessments, pain evaluations, and diagnostic clarification through psychological testing.
• Participate in biweekly case consultations and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Completion of a Psy.D. or Ph.D. program with eligibility for LP licensure.
• Dual licensure in both North Dakota and Minnesota (MN licensure can be obtained after hire date) or license-eligible in both states following completion of required post-degree supervision.
• Accepting post-doc candidates for this position.
• Experience with pediatric and adolescent patients is a plus.
• Opportunity for leadership as Section Chair if interested and qualified.

Location

Centrally located on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, 4 hours west of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Fargo-Moorhead area has a population of 180,000 and serves a regional area consisting of 25 clinics and 5 hospitals.

Pay

$132,000 base salary. Hired candidates may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based compensation.

Schedule

• Full-time position (1.0 FTE).
