PSYCHOLOGIST-CLINICAL, CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Correctional Training Facility (CTF)

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) enhances public safety and promotes successful community reintegration through education, treatment, and active participation in rehabilitative and restorative justice programs. Position: Psychologist, CF (Clinical Fellow) at Correctional Training Facility (CTF) in Soledad, Monterey County. This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week. The monthly salary range is $5,748 to $6,968.50. Main communication for this position will be through email.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preadmission screenings and psychological evaluations of inmates admitted to the program.
• Provide crisis intervention, individual therapy, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team evaluations and consult with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and other professionals.
• Engage in clinical duties throughout the institution, including participation in staff meetings, institutional committees, and consultations with custody staff.
• Supervise and train students, interns, unlicensed psychologists, and other staff.
• Participate in program evaluation and research, including consultation on research design and data analysis.

Pay

• Monthly part-time salary range: $5,748 to $6,968.50.
• Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces base salary by 3% for full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 19 and related categories, with 5 PLP 2025 leave credits provided monthly through June 2027. Part-time and intermittent employees are subject to prorated conditions.
• Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) authorization rates: P $5,748, Q $6,968.50.
• Eligible candidates may receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend after six months of employment, plus a monthly differential totaling $20,000 during the first year, contingent on meeting eligibility criteria.
• CDCR/CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if the selected candidate remains employed for 90 days.
