Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

  • Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base.
  • Patient care providers at the Psychiatric Inpatient Program are eligible for a 15% pay differential.
  • Employees may be eligible for a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend and a monthly recruitment and retention differential totaling $20,000 during their first year with CCHCS.
  • Referral bonuses are available for CDCR/CCHCS employees who refer qualified candidates.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate in Psychology from an accredited institution and be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of California. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a correctional setting, preferably in a psychiatric or mental health capacity. Experience in crisis intervention, individual therapy, and treatment planning is required. Knowledge of correctional psychology principles and practices is essential. Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office, is necessary.

Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $6,897.60 - $8,362.20 per month, depending on experience. The position is part-time and works 24 hours per week. The monthly salary range reflects the current market rates and does not reflect the recent changes due to the Personal Leave Program 2025.
