Psychologist (CBM)
About the role
The Missouri Department of Mental Health seeks a psychologist to conduct court-ordered evaluations, complete timely reports, provide oral testimony, supervise psychology trainees, and perform other related work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct court-ordered evaluations regarding competency to proceed, competency restoration, criminal responsibility, and occasionally sexually violent predator evaluations.
- Work toward becoming a Certified Forensic Examiner.
- Completes timely reports written to the Courts.
- Completes psychological testing to answer referral questions as needed.
- Provides oral testimony to the Court, when required.
- Supervises psychology trainees.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; arrive to work on time, return from lunch on time, and minimize unscheduled absences.
Qualifications
- No disciplinary action in the previous 12 months (for internal candidates only).
- Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or forensic psychology.
- Currently a licensed psychologist for the state of Missouri or license eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with severe and persistent mental illness, neurocognitive disorders, and intellectual disabilities.
- Previous experience conducting forensic evaluations.
