Clinical Psychologist
Summary
This is not a remote position. All candidates will be required to be either on the island of Maui, or willing to relocate to Maui.
About the role
The Clinical Psychologist performs a variety of professional duties. Position includes primary responsibility for independent evaluation, scoring, and interpretation of psychological testing for children 0-8. The psychologist develops recommendations for treatment and links children to education and therapeutic services. Other duties include: counseling families regarding assessment findings and referrals. Test administration is based on an understanding of age, culture, and developmental level. The psychologist documents patient care in the clinical record according to regulatory agency guidelines. Position includes supervision and training of non-licensed staff and collaborative work with pediatricians, therapists and community organizations. The Clinical Psychologist will provide oversight and supervision to the Family Mental Health Counselor.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) approved program in clinical psychology required or from an accredited institution with the graduate level training leading to the doctoral degree meeting the requirements of Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) 16-98-9 required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in mental health providing direct clinical services to children, including individuals with serious/chronic mental illness, required.
- Experience with DSM-5 Diagnostic Criteria, diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred.
- Experience with DC 0-5 diagnostic criteria preferred.
- Current Hawaii License in Good Standing or on track to pursue licensure in the state of Hawaii.
- Specialized training in the assessment and treatment of children preferred.
- Experience working with a variety of children's mental health concerns preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
