Psychiatry Physician (Adult Outpatient)

About the role

Bassett Healthcare Network, in Central New York, is seeking a BC/BE Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist with an interest in Addiction Medicine to join our staff. The Department of Psychiatry Service Line includes the Division of Inpatient Psychiatry (14‑bed acute inpatient psychiatry unit, consults to Med‑Surg inpatients at several affiliate hospitals, and consults to the Emergency Departments), and the Division of Outpatient Psychiatry (OMH‑licensed clinic in Cooperstown, NY) with satellites throughout the Bassett Network and extensive telepsychiatry services. A diverse psychiatric team of MDs, PMHNPs, and Therapists.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Prescribe and manage medications
• NP collaboration/supervision
• Occasional consult liaison coverage including telepsych to other hospitals in the network
• Combination of telepsych and in‑person coverage
• Inpatient call no more than 1:5 weekdays and 1 weekend per month
• Interaction with medical students as well as Internal Medicine and Transitional residents
• Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8‑county region
• Become a part of Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive academic health system and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons

Requirements

• BC/BE Adult Psychiatry
• Completion of an accredited USA Psychiatry Residency
• New York State license (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS Certification Required
• DEA Required
• Strong teamwork, patient‑centered approach, and ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary academic setting

Pay

Salary Range: $295,008 – $330,000. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of posting. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standard. Sign‑on Bonus: up to $200,000. Bassett offers physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap; individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.
