Psychiatry

Locums psychiatry opportunity in Anchorage, AK for a 1-year assignment starting immediately. Two psychiatrists will work in tandem on a 7-days-on / 7-days-off rotation to provide daily coverage.

Schedule

• Coverage Type: Inpatient
• Schedule Type: Clinic and Call
• Call Type: Weeknight beeper call (low volume)
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 10 hours on site; no unpaid lunch
• Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Overtime applies after 10 hours worked per day
• Rates to be determined on bid: regular, orientation, overtime, holiday, night call, 24-hour call, call-back

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric services across multiple settings:
  • Inpatient mental health units (adult or adolescent)
  • Community behavioral health programs
  • Psychiatric emergency services
  • Hospital-based consult-liaison work supporting Children’s Hospital and PAMC medical floors
• Support the future Crisis Stabilization Center (opening Winter 2026)

Requirements

• Board-Certified in Psychiatry
• Experience treating patients age 12 and up
• Active DEA registration
• Active medical license (Alaska license not required at time of bid; employer will assist with licensing via IMLCC or full AK license process)
• Current CV (must be uploaded with bid)
• Willingness to support inpatient, consults, and the Crisis Stabilization Center
