About the role

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine seeks to expand its faculty. The position includes patient care in outpatient clinics, consultation‑liaison services at the affiliate hospital (University Medical Center) for adults, adolescents, and children, and outpatient care at Mojave Counseling, a multidisciplinary community mental health clinic. Educational responsibilities involve working with residents and fellows in clinical and didactic settings, contributing to medical school curriculum development, and precepting third‑ and fourth‑year medical students. The department trains approximately 45 psychiatry residents and fellows in general psychiatry residency and child & adolescent and forensic psychiatry fellowships, with a goal to ensure each trainee acquires the knowledge, procedural skills, critical thinking, and professionalism needed to succeed as a psychiatrist. The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, established in 2017, aims to transform healthcare in Southern Nevada, serves patients, students, professionals, and the community, and supports research published in top‑tier peer‑reviewed journals; UNLV Health provides care to over 10,000 patients monthly across 17 primary and specialty clinics and partner hospitals.
