About the role
Join a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team at MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) as an Inpatient Psychiatrist in our 40-bed adult psychiatric unit in Sanford, Maine. We are seeking per diem psychiatrists to lead compassionate, team-based care for patients with complex psychiatric and psychosocial presentations. You'll work alongside skilled nurse practitioners, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and supportive programming staff in a collegial environment that values collaboration, innovation, and continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside skilled nurse practitioners, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and supportive programming staff in a collegial environment that values collaboration, innovation, and continuity of care.
- Lead compassionate, team-based care for patients with complex psychiatric and psychosocial presentations.
- Shape treatment plans, provide direct therapeutic and pharmacologic interventions, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
- Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
- Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
- Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence.
- Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.
- Current DEA Registration Certificate.
- 3+ years' experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training.
- Meet other credentialing criteria defined in Medical Staff By-laws.
Qualifications
