Duties
- Organizes and provides a basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in various correctional health care settings.
- Ensures the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients under valid authorization by a provider’s order and the delegation and clinical direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Provides support to the care team for daily health care operations.
- Communicates effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.
- Addresses the ongoing needs of patients, working with the members of the larger health care team, and promotes the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.
Qualifications
- Current California State License as a Psychiatric Technician (Safety).
- Completion of a program approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) or the California Board of Psychology (CBP) as a Psychiatric Technician (Safety).
- One year of experience in a correctional setting or a mental health facility.
- Experience in providing psychiatric nursing care.
- Knowledge of mental health principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Pay
Salary range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
