The Psychiatric Technician (Safety) position at California Men's Colony (CMC) in San Luis Obispo, CA involves providing direction to Psychiatric Technicians, maintaining safety, supervising inmate conduct, and participating in the overall psychiatric treatment program under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor or Supervising Registered Nurse II.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to Psychiatric Technicians
• Maintain the safety of persons and property
• Supervise the conduct of inmates
• Provide direction to other personnel providing general psychiatric nursing care to inmates
• Participate in the overall psychiatric treatment program

Requirements (minimum qualifications)

• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE.

Working Conditions

• Travel may be required.

Special Requirements

• The position requires a Drug Screening to be passed prior to hiring.
• The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to hiring.
