Psychiatric Technician (PCT, PCA, Behavioral Health) - Inpatient Adult Unit

The role reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager, Intensive Psychiatric Services and focuses on creating a safe, structured, therapeutic milieu while supporting patient growth and well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu with age‑specific behavioral management practices.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups, applying familiarity with psychiatric disorders and a willingness to learn group facilitation techniques.
• Plan, implement, and facilitate skill‑training and theme‑specific groups; role‑model skills such as communication, negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution for patients.
• Function as a member of the interdisciplinary team, documenting and communicating pertinent information to the treatment team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
• Promote a caring and compassionate environment through the Core Values of Teamwork, Communication, Respect, and Caring.

Qualifications

A minimum of a high school degree or GED equivalent is required; an Associate’s degree, preferably in psychology or another human services field, is preferred.
